Jake’s Gouda Cheese participated in the 2013 Dairy Products Competition at the New York State Fair. Product judging took place from August 5-7 at Cornell University in Ithaca.
Jake’s Gouda Cheese was recognized with the Award of Excellence in the Open Class Cheese category (Class 13) for our aged gouda, ranking in at a 97.5 by the judges…Just barely missing the second place winner, McCadam Cheese of Adams who scored a 98 with their Monterey Jack. The category winner was Euphrates Inc., of Johnstown who scored a 99 in the Open Class with a 99. Awards were recognized during the New York State Fair’s Dairy Day Awards Reception on August 26.
The judges included Charles Lindberg of the New York State Department of Agriculture and Marketing and served as the contest’s chief judge. Other judges included David Bandler, of Cornell University; John Bartell, of SUNY Alfred, Eric J. Dutton, of The New York State Department of Agriculture and Marketing.
