Aged Gouda Cheese and Some Finger Lakes Delight.

We have been doing frequent beverage and gouda cheese pairings and we’re not leaving you hanging this week. We are going to introduce you to a great pairing of New York Wine and our aged gouda cheese. Romulus, New York nestled along Cayuga Lake, is the location of a piece of Finger Lakes treasure; Goose Watch Winery.

Goose Watch Winery specializes in truly unique wines. Everything from Traminette and Melody which are newer grapes developed by Cornell University, to Rosé of Isabella made from grapes planted in the 1800’s in the Finger Lakes Region. Nothing short of spectacular New York wine.

We really enjoy our aged gouda cheese especially with a smooth red wine. We really like the pairing of our aged gouda cheese and Goose Watch’s Merlot, and Red Fox. These wines compliment aged gouda cheese’s distinct sharpness and saltier finish. Normally aged gouda is paired with a bolder red, but our taste buds really enjoy it with Goose Watch’s sweeter reds.

Nothing like an after work mid week glass of wine and cheese. So try some of New York’s finest aged gouda and delicious Finger Lakes Region wine!
