Sylvia’s Baked Macaroni & Cheese

If you think you have had good mac and cheese think again! Sylvia’s Baked macaroni and cheese has every last bit of gouda goodness baked right into it. Try it! 

3   Cups  Dry Macaroni cooked and set aside

Begin By Sautéing 1/2 onion with 4 Tablespoons of Butter

Add:

  • 1/2                             Onion
  • 4      Tablespoons   Butter
  • 1/4  Cup                    Flour
  • 1      Teaspoon         Dry mustard
  • 1/2  Cup                    White cooking wine.

Cook for several minutes or until wine is gone. 

Add:

  • 3 Cup        Milk
  • 2               Beaten Eggs

  Simmer for 1 Minutes

Add:

  • 1     Teaspoon           Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon           Pepper
  • 1/4 Teaspoon           Garlic Salt
  • 2     Cup                       Shredded Gouda Cheese

Stir in cooked macaroni, put in baking dish. 

Garnish with parsley flakes and any of the following options

  • Buttered Bread Crumbs
  • Shredded Gouda
  • Fried Bacon

 

Cover and Bake at 325 Degrees for 1 hour.

Serves 6-8
